Phyllis Jean Martin, 87, of 4541 U.S. 23 North, Alpena, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Touch of Country AFC.
Phyllis was born April 9, 1927 in Alpena to the late Elmer and Florence (Heinold) Hall. On August 29, 1952, she married Bernard J. Martin, and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2008.
Mrs. Martin was an active member of First United Methodist Church, enjoyed flower gardening, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Roxanne (Glen) Thompson of Spruce; 6 sons, Ron (Ann) Martin of Ossineke, Gary (Carmen) Martin of Yuma, Arizona, Dave (Sue) Martin of Alpena, John (Julie) Martin of Alpena, Paul (Terry) Martin of Alpena, Rod (Cindy) Martin of Herron; 14 grandchildren, Adam Thompson, Adrienne (Jeff King) Thompson, Kaitlyn Thompson, Anissa (Cayle) Sharratt, Chelsea Martin, Michelle Martin, Eric (Heather) Martin, Stephanie Martin, Tyler Martin, Amanda Decker, Josh (Heather) Scott, Janae Martin, Brocce Martin, Christine Martin; 3 great-grandchildren, Brody, Peyton, Josslyn; brother, Glenn “Timber” Hall; 3 sisters-in-law, Mable Hall, Joyce Gapske, Delores Smith; brother-in-law, Bill (Iris) Martin, Gary Szymanski; several nieces and nephews, including Karen (Frank) Graham.
