Marie Hall was born November 30, 1916 to Elmer Hall and Florence (Heinhold) Hall in the Bolton area. On October 8, 1936 she and Ray Thompson were married. They lived in the Detroit area several years and moved back to the Alpena area in 1942. Ray preceded her in death March 2, 1983.
Marie Thompson worked at the Thunder Bay Jacket Factory, Fraser Products, also as a cook at the Hope House.
While wintering in Florida she met Alvin Doederlein and they were married June 26, 1993 in Alpena. They spent the winters at their home in St. Cloud, Florida. She looked forward to the trip south to check on the orange tree that Alvin had planted for her. Both enjoyed playing shuffle board, the dances at the Community Center and taking rides on Sunday to Kortman's for a chicken dinner.
Surviving were her husband, Alvin Doederlein; 4 daughters, Karen (Frank) Graham of Alpena, Diane (Jim) Parks of Florida, Mariam Warnike of Florida, Judy Thompson of Illinois; one brother, Glenn Hall of Alpena; one sister, Phyllis Martin of Alpena; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; Alvin's family: Dale Doederlein of Corruna, Judy (Mark) Mennis of Lickin, Missouri; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Marie Doederlein was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Donald, Clare and Ray Hall, and 2 grandchildren.
