Richard K. "Shug" Bellah, 67, of Lafayette died at his residence on Sunday, April 1, 2007. Born in Lafayette on April 22, 1939 to the late William and Thelma (Martin) Bellah, he was a lifelong resident. He married Shirley Morley on January 21, 1955 and she preceded him in death on August 2, 2005. He was a union roofer. He enjoyed playing bingo, buying lottery tickets, wood crafting, and gardening. Surviving are daughters, Catheryne (husband, Fred) Kerfoot and Angela (husband, John) Noe of Lafayette, step-daughter, Kimberly (husband, Steven) Manzini of Stockwell, IN, sons, Edward "Squeek" (companion, Pam Marsh) Bellah of Lafayette, and step-son, Robert (wife, Terri) Bellah of Lafayette, three sisters; Betty (husband, Ernest) Cowger of Lafayette, Madonna Goonen of Rossville, and Martha Jane McIver of Rossville, and three brothers; James (wife, Virginia) Bellah and Edward (wife, Karen) Bellah all of Lafayette, and Fredrick (wife, Margaret) Bellah of Las Vegas. Fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren also survive. Preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.
