Madonna A. “Aunt Donna” Goonen, 81, of Lafayette, died Friday, December 23, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family at 12:10 pm. Born in Lafayette, on August 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Thelma May (Martin) Bellah.
She married Robert Goonen August 4, 1967. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1994.
Madonna worked in Laundry at St. Elizabeth Central for 19 years, then worked at Regency Place for 8 years retiring in 2006. She enjoyed visiting with family, had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. .
She is survived by her sister Martha “Jane” (widow) McIver, and brother James (Virginia) Bellah both of Rossville. Caregivers: Thelma (Companion Cindy Henry) McIver of Rossville, Madonna (Fiancé Andy Leach) McIver of Frankfort, Rebecca (David) Hall of Delphi. Several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, eleven siblings Earl Bellah, Elmer Bellah, Bill Bellah, Fred Bellah, Betty Cowger, Ed Bellah, Richard Bellah, Orville Bellah, Betsy Lucille Bellah, Sharon Sue Bellah, Wayne Bellah, Paul Bellah, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth McIver.
