Mrs. Millard (Loretta) May, formerly of 1035 E. Walnut St., died November 16, 1992 in a local nursing home. She was born July 28, 1906 in Cuba City to the late Charles and Josephine Baxter. She married Millard May June 24, 1939. She was a graduate of Platteville State College and spent 25 years teaching in public and parochial schools. Loretta was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Church and the St. Anne Society.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Mike Culligan; two grandchildren, Colleen and Erin Culligan; two brothers and sisters in law, Austin and Margaret Baxter, Platteville; Joe and Dorothy Baxter, Darlington; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Millard; one brother Robert Baxter; one sister Mrs. Bill (Nelma) O'Brien.

Friends may call at the Schauer and Schumacher east side funeral home, 340 S. Monroe Ave. from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday. Parish wake service 7 pm Wednesday. Friends may also call after 10 am Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Funeral service 10:30 am Thursday at the church. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
