Was living with daughter , Jane Eliza Johnston Alford and Columbus Alford family in 1900 census. 1n Nov. 1908, W. R. Johnston, of the family, applied for permanent letters of administration to the estate of Mrs. M. E. Johnston. I could not find an obit for that year in the Sylvester papers on line. Assumed to be buried with the family in Sumner Cemetery.

"History of Worth County Georgia 1854-1934," by L. Grubbs. c. 1934 reprinted 1970, J. W. Burke Co, Macon, GA. page 426-427. She and Benjamin Johnston married in Waynesville, N.C. They moved to Ellijay, Georgia prior to 1844 as their eldest daughter Mary Elizabeth Johnston was born there Nov. 22, 1844. The family lived in Ellijay, Pleasant Hill of Gilmer County and Sumter County before coming to Worth County.
