According to the History of Worth County Georgia, 1854-1934 by L. Grubbs page 426-427, she was also the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Welch Johnston.

Bennie Love Johnston was the daughter of Benjamin Johnston and Martha Elizabeth Welch. She was the wife of Marshall Alonzo Sexton who was born about 1860 in NC. She and 'Lonnie' had two children: Amy Kathleen Sexton, b. 30 MAY 1894 and Jane Love Sexton, b. 31 AUG 1896. Bennie died from mouth cancer shortly after her second child was born. Amy married Elijah Jackson Calhoun (1881-1972); Jane married Dr. James Lawrence Stringfellow, M. D.(1887-1982). Jane Love and Doctor Stringfellow are buried in Stevensburg Baptist Church Cemetery, Stevensburg, Culpeper, VA.
Jane Love was raised in Waynesville, NC by her aunt Martha Anne 'Mattie' Johnston and her husband Benjamin Sloan. Amy lived with her father in Worth Co., GA where he married Georgia Lee Dixon in 1900 and had five additional children. Marshall worked with Elijah Calhoun in a sawmill in Florida and may be the M. A. Sexton buried in Riverside Cemetery, Marianna, FL (died 1929).
