Died, at his home in this city, on Friday last, April 19, of inflammation of the bowels, Mr. William Mayer, in the 38th year of his age. Deceased had lived in Yakima for nearly seven years, was a carpenter by avocation, and was well known and esteemed by numerous friends. His illness was comparatively short. He leaves a wife with six children, who have the sympathies of the community in their affliction. The funeral ceremonies were conducted by Father Sweere, of St. Joseph's Catholic church, on Sunday, many friends following the remains to the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Mayer desires THE HERALD to express her sincere thanks for the many kind actions and sympathetic deeds of her friends during her husband's illness. The remembrance of them will always be tenderly cherished. Yakima Herald 4-25-1895
