TURLOCK --- Venice C. Howard, 48, of Denair died in his Gratton Road home yesterday afternoon following a short illness.
Howard, a farmer, was born in Texas and also lived in New Mexico before moving to Denair in 1932. He was a member of the Denair Southern Baptist Church.
He leaves his widow, Joyce K.; a son, Ernest D. Howard of Modesto; a daughter, Joyce Messengale of Spreckles; his mother, Lennie Howard of Delhi, Merced County; two stepsons. Larry and Kenneth Frank of Denair; six brothers, Lester, C. B., Dale and J. L. Howard of Denair and Henry and E. L. Howard of Hughson; Four sisters, Alpha Mae Nance of Texas, Frances Bennett of Delhi, Geta Brey Heffner of Bellflower and Edna Ward of Oxnard, and three grandchildren.
