Alpha Mae Nance, 90, of Munday died Saturday, October 29, 1994, in the Munday Nursing Center.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 31 at the First Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Randy White and James J. Leach officiating. Burial was in Johnson Memorial Cemetery under direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nance was born December 16, 1903, in Mineral Wells. She moved from Knox City to Munday in 1939. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She and James Frank Nance were married December 16, 1921, in Knox City. He died November 22, 1980. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Winnie May Hobert, December 21, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Sue Smith of Odessa and Bobbie Leach of Midland; two sons, James F. Nance Jr. of Turlock, California, and W. C. Nance of Munday; two sisters, Greta Brae Haffner of Anderson, California, and Edna Ward of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four brothers, W.D. Howard and E.L. Howard, both of Ceres, California, J. L. Howard of Waterford, California, and H. H. Howard Jr. of Turlock, California; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Clint Norman, Angel Munoz, Ricky Nance, Don Bowman, Eugene Leach, Kenny Smith, and Pat Hobert.
