Bobbie Lee Bob Russell, age 83, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 6:08 PM - Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at HSHS St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 18 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Nate Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery near Latona, Illinois. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service. Bob was born on October 30, 1934, on the family farm near Wheeler, Illinois, the son of Walter and Estella (Elmore) Russell. He married Donna Swisher on February 15, 1992, and she survives. Bob had been a bulldozer operator and retired from Norge in Effingham. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique tractors and farming.
Bob is survived by: Children Kathy (Alan) Clodfelter of Neoga, Illinois; Jeff (Jane) Russell of Porterville, Illinois; Mary (Allen) Travous of Olney, Illinois and Bobbie Russell, Jr. of Wheeler, Illinois; Wife Donna Swisher Russell of Mattoon, Illinois; Brother Ed Russell of Plano, Illinois; 10 Grandchildren and Several Great Grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Russell, Sr, brothers Calvin, John, Larry and Kenny Russell and sisters Anna Mae Osborn and Alatta Dare.
