Died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. On October 11, 1947, he married Carol L. Patterson and she survives. Mr. Russell was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Ypsilanti and also a member of Phoenix Lodge #13, F&AM of Ypsilanti. Survivors besides his wife include 3 children: Diane (John) Dunigan, Cheryl (Dwight) Bowler and John David Russell; 2 grandchildren: Bryan (Danielle) Brady and Stacey (Brent) Egnor; 5 great grandchildren: Gavin, Hailey and Hannah Brady, Jacob and Caleb Egnor; Extended Family: Mr. and Mrs. Ceil Alexander; Bob, Jayne and Rachel Morgan and Denny Brady. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Janowiak Funeral Home with Pastor Kent Jennings of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. with a Masonic Lodge Service under the auspices of Phoenix Lodge #13, F&AM at 6:30 p.m. "Where Families Come First"
