Funeral services for Fernando T. Bentancur, 60, of Richmond, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at St. John Fisher Catholic Church. Father Wencil Pavlovsky will celebrate the mass. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Rosenberg. Viewing for Mr. Bentancur was held Monday evening, Jan. 25, and will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Hernandez Funeral Home, 800 Fourth Street in Richmond. A rosary for Mr. Bentancur will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Hernandez Funeral Home Chapel, 800 Fourth Street in Rosenberg.

Mr. Bentancur was born May 15, 1938 in Rosenberg, and he passed away Jan. 24, 1999 at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Dolores Bentancur; and four brothers, Porfirio Bentancur, Marcelo Bentancur, Enrique Bentancur, and Felipe Bentancur.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Antonia Zuniga Bentancur; three sons, Braulio, Antonio, and Fernando Bentancur Jr., all of Richmond; six daughters, Gloria Pena and Alicia Palacios of Richmond, Catarina Bingham and Consuelo Garcia of Rosenberg, Francisca Rodriguez of Mathis, and Patricia Ramirez of Richmond; three brothers, Manuel, Pedro, and Juan Bentancur, all of Richmond; five sisters, Dominga Cruz of Rosenberg, Badelia Garcia of Hallettsville, Juana Garza, Vita Cortez, and Catarina Villalobos, all of Richmond; 30 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
