Dominga Cruz was born March 23, 1924 in Richmond and she passed away Dec. 5, 1999 in Houston. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Angeles Funeral Chapel, 1223 Sixth Street in Rosenberg. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Dolores Bentancur; her brothers, Porfirio Bentancur, Marcelo Bentancur, Enrique Bentancur Jr., Fernando Bentancur, and Felipe Bentancur; and a sister, LaLa Gamino.
She is survived by her husband, Candelario Cruz; a daughter, Anita and her husband, Ray Narvaez of Brazoria; a son, Nasario Cruz and his wife, Virginia, of Richmond; his sisters, Vasdelia Garcia of Needville, Juanita Garza of Richmond, Dominga Cortez of Richmond, and Cata Villaloboz of Richmond; her brothers, Manuel Bentancur of Richmond, Frank Bentancur of Wharton, Pete Bentancur of Richmond, and Johnny Bentancur of Richmond; 12 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives, friends, and family.
