Dorothy Jean Marlette Ford, 81, of Carrollton, Ky., died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange, Ky.

She was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Carroll County, Ky., the daughter of Planet Wright Marlett and Mildred Jane Robbins. She was a retired Head Start teacher in Carrollton, Ky., and was a member of Carrollton Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ulysses A. "Fordy" Ford; three daughters, Bonnie Meadows, Janice Meadows and Cathy Ann Fryman; two sons, James Robert "Bob" Cain and David Glenn Cain; three sisters, Mary Helen Wilson, Wanda Coghill and Betty Sue Mouzakitis; three brothers, Joe Marlette, Donnie Marlette and Robert "Bob" Marlette; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Elmer Lee Cain Sr.; four sons, Arthur Lee Cain, Robert Wright Cain, Elmer Lee Cain Jr. and Billy Joe Cain; five brothers; and two sisters.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Carrollton Wesleyan Church. Burial will be in Campbellsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky., and Thursday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Carrollton Wesleyan Church.

Dorothy Ford, 81, of Carrollton, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at the Baptist Hospital Northeast, LaGrange. She was the daughter of the late Planet Marlette and Mildred Robbins, a retired Headstart teacher in Carroll County and a member of the Carrollton Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by her husband: Ulysses A. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Carrollton Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Haynes and the Rev. Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Campbellsburg Cemetery in Campbellsburg, Ky.

Visitation will be today, Wednesday, March 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth St., Carrollton, and on Thursday, at the church, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mrs. Ford was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Carroll County, Ky., the daughter of the late Planet Marlette and Mildred Robbins.

She attended school in Carroll County and graduated from 10th grade.

She was married to the late Elmer Lee Cain Sr. and to Ulysses A. "Fordy" Ford.

She was a retired head-start teacher from Carrollton.

She was a member of Carrollton Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include her husband, "Fordy" Ford; three daughters, Bonnie and Janice Meadows and Cathy Ann Fryman; two sons, James Robert "Bob" Cain and David Glenn Cain; three sisters, Mary Helen Wilson, Wanda Coghill and Betty Sue Mouzakitis; three brothers, Joe, Donnie and Robert "Bob" Marlette; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her previous husband, she was preceded in death by four sons, Arthur Lee Cain, Robert Wright Cain, Elmer Lee Cain Jr. and Billy Joe Cain; five brothers; and two sisters.
