Mrs. Laura Heckart, 82, of 620 W. Mary St. died Tuesday at 4:25 pm at Ottumwa Hospital.
She was born April 3, 1891 in Wapello County the daughter of Elisha and Sarah Eakins Orman. She was a lifetime resident of Wapello County. She married Michael H. Heckart on Jan. 26, 1920 in Wapello County. He survives.
She is also survived by one son, Gerald O. Heckart, Ottumwa; two stepsons, Marlin Heckart, Ottumwa, and Mosey Heckart, Burlington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Black, Batavia, Mrs. Alta Reinhard, Blakesburg, and Miss Golden Orman, Drakesville. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Services will held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery south of Ottumwa.
