CLARENCE ORMAN, 69, of Blakesburg Route 1, died at Ottumwa Hospital Sunday at 6:35 p.m. following a two-month illness.
A Wapello County farmer all his life, he was the son of ELISHA and SARAH E. EAKINS ORMAN, born in Wapell County,Iowa on Dec. 9, 1898. He was a member of Mount Zion Methodist Church.
His marriage to GARNET L. MAJOR took place June 5, 1929, in Ottumwa,Iowa. She survives as do one daughter, Miss RUTH ORMAN of Ottumwa; four sisters, Mrs. LAURA HECKART of Ottumwa, Mrs. GOLDIE EAKINS of Drakesville Route 1, Mrs. ETHEL BLACK of Batavia Route 1, and Mrs. ALTA REINHARD of Blakesburg Route 1; and several nieces and nephews. He was proceded in death by one brother, ELLIS, and one sister, LULU.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., at Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred McCarvey of Northgate Alliance Church officiating. Burial will be in Ormanville Cemetery.
