Alex was actually born in the village of Deboruszka, Uzh County, Subcarpathian Rus', Austria-Hungary (Present day Kosicky Slovakia). After WW I Subcarpathian Rus' was made part of Czechoslovakia and was called Subcarpathia. Alex's surname evolved, for various reasons, from Brenzovics (immigration docutments) to Branzovic (1910 census), to Bransotich (1920 census) to Branshwich (1930 census) to the current spelling of Branswich. Alex's obituary starts with "Alex (Branswich) Brenzovich, 89,...".
