Robert Lee Hardisty, 78, died at his home on Bloomfield route 4 at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, 1959. Services were conducted this afternoon for the deceased who was a retired miner. Mr. Hardisty had been owner/operator of the "Red Pig" general store located near the "Y" on St. Rd. 54 near his home.
Mr. Hardisty was born October 3, 1890 in Dallas Co., Missouri, the son of Andrew Johnson and Harriet Emma Cullison Hardisty. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 560 in Linton, where he formerly lived. Mr. Hardisty was preceded in death by his first wife, Blanche Shields Hardisty. Children of Robert and Blanche were: Russell; Marjorie; and Harold.
Surviving are his wife Juanita; five children, Russell of Linton, Mrs. Marjorie Padgett of Kentucky, Harold of Dallas, TX; Emma Lee Hardisty and Jimmy Hardisty at home; Children of Robert and Juanita were Emma Lee and Jimmy; one stepson, Sonny Jackson of Solsberry, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also, seven brothers and sisters survive. They are Mrs. Ethel Martindale-Ray of Bloomfield route, Mrs. Roxie Wright of Bloomfield, Roscoe of Seattle, Mrs. Maudie Deischer of Terre Haute, Mrs. Marie Duzan of Bloomfield, Ray Hardisty of Stanford, and Mrs. Faye Hash of Bloomfield.
Services were in the Cincinnati Christian Church with the Rev. Grover DeNeal officiating. Burial was made in the Fairview Cemetery at Linton, Greene Co., IN.
