Ethel Etta (Hardisty) Martindale-Ray, 90, of 100 West Main, Bloomfield, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 1979 at Greene County General Hospital.

The deceased was born February 10, 1889 in Greene County, the daughter of Andrew "Andy" Johnson and Harriet Emma Cullison Hardisty.

Surviving are two sons, Albert (Mildred) Martindale and Victor (Olive Marie) Martindale, both of Bloomfield route four; one daughter, Fern (Ray) Holtsclaw of Greenwood; one daughter-in-law, Johnie (McMurry) Martindale of Indianapolis; one brother, Ray (Bertha) Hardisty of Bloomington; three sisters, Maude Deischer of Terre Haute, Roxie (Paris) Wright and Marie Duzan-Kelly both of Bloomington; ten grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Jesse Benjamin Martindale in 1918; and Seymour Ray in 1977; one son Wendell Martindale in 1978; two brothers Robert Hardisty and Roscoe Hardisty; two sisters, Estelle Esther Hardisty Holtsclaw and Naomi Fay Hardisty Hash.

Funeral Services will be conducted by the Rev. Claude Casada on Friday, June 29, 2 p.m. at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery beside her first husband, the father of her children, Jesse Benjamin Martindale.
