Mrs. Melissa S. Michaels, 70, of 427 Cedar St., died this morning at 2:50 at the Chambersburg Hospital. She had been in ill health for one week.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1892, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Phillip and Harriet John Bietsch and was a member of the Second Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Ray Michaels; a son, Robert Ray Michaels Jr., R.R. 3, Greencastle; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Weaver, 159 McKinley St., Mrs. Wallace McGehee Jr., R.R. 1, Fayetteville, and Mrs. Charles Snider, R.R. 2; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Martin, 420 Cedar St., and Mrs. Helen Michaels, 431 Wayne Ave.; six brothers, Albert Bietsch, New York City, Philip Bietsch, Nyesville; Walter Bietsch, 429 E. King St.; Robert Bietsch, 926 S. Fifth St.; Arthur Bietsch, Avenel, N.J. and Elmond Bietsch, R.R. 1, Shippensburg; six grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sellers Funeral Home in charge, the Rev. Paul B. Lucas. Burial will be made in Norland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service Thursday. It is requested that flowers be omitted.
