Walter C. Bietsch, 74, 563 Apple Way, St. Thomas, retired employee of Richard Textiles, Shippensburg, died at 6:21 a.m. Dec. 10, 1981, in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born in Chambersburg March 31, 1907, he was the son of the late Phillip and Harriet John Bietsch.

Mr. Bietsch was a Protestant by faith and was a life member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and Eagles Club, Inc., Waynesboro. He was a member of Good Will Fire Co. and a social member of Landis McCleaf Marine Corps League and American Legion Posts 612, St. Thomas, and 606, Fort Loudon.

His wife, Mrs. Edith Starliper Bietsch, died Sept. 15, 1960.

Surviving are two sons; Walter C. Bietsch Jr., Sebring, Fla.; Charles R. Bietsch, Fayetteville; a daughter, Mrs. William (Jessie) Hutchison, 7549 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Helen Michaels, Pike County, and three brothers, Robert Bietsch, 926 S. Fifth St.; Elmond Bietsch, R.R. 1, Shippensburg, and Arthur Bietsch, Sarasota, Fla.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the John O. Park Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
