Mrs. DeWitt died Wednesday (Jan. 26, 1983) at a Mason City hospital. The Rev. Jerald G. Swanberg, associate pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation will be after 3 pm today until 9 am Saturday at Patterson -James Sellergren Funeral Chapel, Mason City, and before services at the church.
The family requests memorials be made to the Heart Fund. Mrs. DeWitt was born in 1901 to Bert and Clara (Baker) Hollenbeck in Illinois. She married Elmer DeWitt on Sep. 15, 1920, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
A resident of this area for 65 years, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mason City and the church circle, as well as the Senior Citizens Clubs in Hanlontown and Fertile. She also belonged to the Inter Creek Club for more than 60 years.
Survivors include her husband Elmer; three daughters, Mrs. Dale (Blanche) Cline, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Leroy (Doris) Gourley, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs Joyce Julsen, Mason City; three sons, Kenneth, Hanlontown; Francis, Mason City, and Robert, Greensboro, NC; a sister, Mrs. Theodore (Geneva) Diercks, Mason City; a brother, Dwayne Hollenbeck, Clear Lake; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
