Jack was born Dec 5,1880 in Burlington Junction, MO to James Tobin 1840-1917 and Mary Cummins 1838-1920. Jim and Mary and family came in March 1880 from Callan, Co Kilkenny, Ireland to NY and Jack was conceived on the ship and born 9 months later.
Jack married Emma Kunce May 19, 1909 in Maryville, MO. They moved to Oakes, ND in 1914 with the Roney family. They had 3 children, Vincent dePaul Tobin 1911-1940, Virginia M Tobin Shpall 1913-1987, and Jake Gilbert Tobin 1929-2009. Jack and Emma divorced in Oakes; Emma took 2 kids Virginia and Jake and moved to Denver, then Long Beach, CA and she married again in Calif. Jack took Vincent and moved back to Burlington Junction and sold Watkins products from his car. Vincent married Margaret (Wells)(later Fisher)1913-2000, but then Vincent died suddenly in Maryville in 1940 and is buried beside his dad Jack in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Maryville.
