Gentry G. Cope
The Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.) Aug. 27, 1999. Gentry Gaines Cope, 96. McMinnville resident and Warren County native Gentry Gaines Cope, 96, died Aug. 24 at River Park Hospital.
A retired employee of Magnetek Century Electric and a member of New Union, The Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Perry and Fannie Jones Cope; and was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta Cope; sons, Barton and Marvin Cope; daughter, Freda Jean Cope; sister, Effie Vaughn; and brothers, Eston, Norman, Orville and Lively Cope.
He is survived by two daughters, Marguerite Close of McMinnville and Juanita Walker of Huntsville, Ala.; two sons, R.L. Cope of McMinnville and Larry Cope of Belle Center, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Glen Cantrell officiating.
Burial will follow at New Union Cemetery in DeKalb County. Visitation will be held from noon until time of service today at McMinnville Funeral Home.
