COPE, Perry (1868-1947)

Perry Cope, 78-year old fifteenth district farmer, died in Good Samaritan
Hospital in Woodbury at 12:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, Dec. 31.
Funeral and burial were in New Union. Born in Dekalb county May 16, 1868, he was
a son of Hurd Cope and Elizabeth Winstead Cope.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fannie Jones cope; five sons; Eston Cope and
Gentry Cope, both of this county, Norman Cope, Upton, Kentucky, Orville Cope,
Sylvia, North Carolina, and Lively Cope of Morgantown, North Carolina; three
brothers, Elijah Cope of McMinnville, Ambrose Cope of Dekalb county, and Taylor
Cope of Winchester, North Carolina; and four sisters, Mrs. Elijah Vaughn of
McMinnville, Mrs. Fannie Heffer and Mrs. Bill Doon, both of White county, and
Mrs. Cora Pennington of Cookville.
