P. W. Hungtington son of Benjamin & Margaretta Perrit Huntington. Huntington was a capitalist and banker, for years prominent in Columbus financial circles retiring in 1911 as head of the Huntington National Bank. He was married three times, his first wife was Jane Nashee Deshler, by whom three children were born: Benjamin (1859-1864), Thomas Dunlap (1861-1930), Webster Perit (1865-1946). In 1872 he married Frances Sollace, daughter of C. T. and Harriet Sollace, by whom three sons were born: Theodore Sollace (1873-1937), Francis Ropes (1875-1928), Baldwin Gwynne (1879-1958). In 1882 he married Ida H. Nothnagel, daughter of H.J. Nothnagel, a teacher of the blind, who survived him with 3 daughters & 1 son: Edith (1883-1964), Phyllis (1884-1895), Margaret (1887-1963) and Ralph (1886-1886). He was Treasurer and President of the Green Lawn Cemetery assocation, being responsible for the erection of the chapel and donor of the pipe organ. President of Hayden National Bank, President of the old Columbus, Shawnee & Hocking Railroad, a Director of the Hocking Valley Railroad and President of the Columbus & Xenia Railroad. President of the Columbus Gas Co., formerly a Director of the Huber Company of Marion. President of Ohio Bankers' Assocation and Vice President of the American Bankers' Assocation. In 1884 he was appointed by the Governor as head of the state public relief work. He was 81 years old when he died at his home at 141 East Broad Street, where he had lived for the past 65 years.
