Thomas was the son of James Livingston and Mary Semple. He was born in the townland of Kilcroagh (near Castlederg) in the historic barony of Omagh West and the civil parish of Urney. Kilcroagh covers only about 351 acres. His sister Sarah Anne was also born in the same town. His parents were 22 years old when they were married on February 20 1857 in St. Bestius Church in Castlederg, Parish of Termonamonagan, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland (although recorded in the parish of Strabane). His paternal grandfather was George Levingston, a a farmer. His maternal grandfather was John Semple, a laborer who resided in Aghascrebagh.

He was married to Hanna or Anna Galbraith (Feb 1869 PA; father born Ireland). They were the parents of the following known children~

1-Anna or Hanna Livingston Lawrence (Aug 1887) married to Albert Lawrence (abt 1889 PA) worked as a department store saleman in 1910; later married John Fraser
2-John A. Livingston (Sept 1890)
3-Raymond Thomas Livingston (Aug 1896-Jan 21 1961) or Thomas R., not 'Thomas A.' as transcribed on 1900 census
4-James Richard Livingston (abt 1902)

Thomas resided at 1265 South 23rd Street at the time of his death. Thomas was employed as a janitor. In 1900 and 1910 he worked as a bar tender.

Thomas was 52 years old when he died due to pneumonia.

Note~His death certificate stated that he was born in 1867. However, on the 1900 census he reported 1866.
