Born April 26, 1936, in Carlisle, he was the son of the late John and Verna Beecher. In addition to his parents, wife, Viola Mae Beecher, and great-granddaughter, Kayla Mae Hetrick preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Ernest R. and Julie Beecher, Donald R. Beecher Jr., James B. and Joann Beecher, Joseph A. Beecher and Lauri A. and Len Nailor and Ellen D. Carey; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Donald enjoyed woodworking. He retired as a carpenter from Lettermen Inc.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at South Fairview First Church of God, 1212 Centerville Road, Newville, with Rev. Harry Madison officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, Pa. 17015 or to his church, South Fairview First Church of God.
