Mrs. Verna E. Beecher
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Rearick Funeral Home of Newville for Mrs. Verna E. Beecher, widow of John R. Beecher, who died Saturday at her home in Centerville, at the age of 71.
She was a daughter of the late Charles and Annie Brindle Moore of Cumberland County.
Mrs. Beecher was a member of the Centerville Lutheran Church and the Penn Township Fire Company Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons, Harold of Centerville, Lynn of Carlisle and Donald, Carlisle R.D. 5; a daughter, Mrs. Nevin LeDane, Centerville; two brothers, Thomas Moore, Greencastle, and Lynn More (sic), Shippensburg; five sisters, Mrs. Earl Bowers and Mrs. Grace McBeth of Walnut Bottom, Mrs. Clever Miles of Shippensburg, Mrs. Harold Stambaugh of Carlisle and Mrs. Pearl Naugle, Carlisle R.D. 5; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Centerville Cemetery with her former pastor, the Rev. Laverne Stough, officiating.
