Martha N. Bradley, formerly of Ashtabula Township, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4th, 2017, at the Heartland of Mentor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 22, 1933, in Knoxville, Tenn., to Luther and Martha Ellen (Queen) Knox. She was the youngest of seven children. After graduation, she attended Business College in Denver, Colo.

In 1954, she married Edwin W. Bradley, and they moved to Ashtabula, where she worked for Fuller Brush Company and Inland Container until it closed. She then worked for Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Ashtabula County until her retirement.

Martha's love of her grandchildren made her a very popular sitter. She was delighted to spend her time keeping them company. All her grandchildren fondly called her "Granny".

Martha had a fondness for pets; she and her family loved every pet that came into their lives. Her gentle soul and warm heart gave meaning to God's creatures that had come to her home. Those pets that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge greeted her with much joy.

A wonderful, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she will be remembered for her love of her family, her friends and her pets.

Survivors include her daughter, Rose Ellen Bradley (Eric Reiss); son, Kenneth D. Bradley (Vickie); daughter-in-law, Melissa Bradley; grandchildren, Kerry Bish-Waller, Kevin and Kraig Bish (Brooke), Kelly Bradley and Zachary Bradley; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Bish, Ashley Bickerstaff, Seth Waller, Ethan, Gavin, Morgan and Milee Bish, Alyssa, Charity, Cadence, Jorga and Abel Bradley; great-great-grandchildren, Maddox, Jaxton, and Axel Bickerstaff; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Wayne Bradley in 1988; son, Harold E. Bradley in 2009; her parents; siblings, Jackson Knox, Thomas Knox, Katherine McDaniel, Marvin Knox, Emily Armstrong and Paul Knox; and nephews, James McDaniel, Kyle Armstrong and Alex Knox.

At Martha's request, no services will be held. Martha will be interred in her beloved Tennessee at a later date.

If desired, contributions in Martha's name may be made to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.

Martha's family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Heartland of Mentor and the Hospice of the Western Reserve for the loving care shown to her family during her final journey home.
