Obituary

McDaniel, Mary Katherine (Kitty), age 89, of South Knoxville, gained her heavenly wings on March 17, 2013. She was employed for over 20 years at ORNL and worked on the Manhattan Project while there. She retired from Robert Shaw after 18 years of service. She is preceded in death by husband, James M. McDaniel and son, James L. McDaniel, brothers, J.C., Tom, Marvin and Paul Knox. Survived by sons, Danny and Avera (Pat) McDaniel; daughter-in-laws: Jill and Bobbie McDaniel; sisters: Martha and Jibba, sister-in-laws: Reba and Dot, grandchildren: Shannon, Jason, Cory, Dallas, Amy, Matt, and Mike; seven great grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 19. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 1 pm graveside service on Wednesday, March 20. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.
