Funeral services for Mrs. Mary C. Butterfield were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Waggener & Campbell chapel by Rev. W. H. Sandy of the Christian church. During the services Mrs. M. A. Tiffany and Mrs. Grace Nelson sang three appropriate hymns. Those acting as pall bearers were S. J. Purnell, Sam Hilburn, B. J. McIntire and Frank L. Duffy. Interment was made in Conrad Memorial cemetery.

Mary C. Butterfield nee Conklin, was born February 17, 1841 near Rome, New York.

Later she married Frederick L. Butterfield a member of Co. C 50th regiment of the New York Engineers who served with said organization during the Civil War. Comrade Butterfield passed away November 20, 1911 at Bigfork, Montana.

Mrs. Butterfield was admitted to the Montana Soldiers' Home May 27, 1927 from Lake County, Montana, and has been a continuous resident of the Home until the time of her death May 6, 1932, aged 91 years.

She is survived by three children, two sons Lou C. and Fred Butterfield of Bigfork Montana and one daughter, Mrs. Muad Rees of Union, Oregon.
