Mrs. Slater married Mr. Humphrey Feb. 2, 1890, according to the following obituary for Mr. Humphrey:

The Cortland Democrat, May 1890

The sad and unexpected death of Samuel Humphrey, of Summer Hill, occurred very suddenly of heart disease, May 14th.
Mr. Humphrey was born in Onondaga county in the year 1822, being 68 years of age at the time of his death. In the year 1857 he was married to Caroline C. Cooper and in 1866 removed to Summer Hill, Cayuga Co. Mrs. Humphrey died in 1886.

February 2d of the present year, Mr. Humphrey was joined in marriage to Mrs. Lucretia R. Slater of Summer Hill, who has the sympathy of her many friends in her present bereavement.

Mr. Humphrey was a most loving and devoted husband, an estimable and courteous gentleman, and a kind, obliging neighbor, whose death is a most severe shock to the community in which he lived.
