, 83, of Pittsburg, died February 9, 2017 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.

She was born April 9, 1933 in Frankfort, Germany, the daughter of Fritz and Kate Hornung.

She had been a resident of the United States since 1959.

She married Jack Wayne Scott in 1955 in Frankfort, Germany. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2008.

Mrs. Scott had been a cook at Residential Center for Youth RCY in Pittsburg for 20 years of service to the children of the area.

Survivors include four sons Donald Scott of Pittsburg, James Scott of Mulberry, Robert Scott of Pittsburg and Willie Scott of Weir, KS, one daughter Susan Crowe of Arma, KS, one brother Detter Hornung and one sister Margaret both of Frankfort Germany, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.

Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, KS with the Rev. Adah Hutchcraft, officiating.

Burial will be in the New Pleasant View (sic) [Pleasantview] Cemetery, rural Weir, KS.

The family will receive their friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Friends may call anytime after 1 pm Monday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, KS.

A memorial has been established to the in care of the funeral home.

Jack Wayne Scott, 72, of Pittsburg, KS formally of Weir, KS died 7:25 p.m. Tuesday July 22, 2008 at his home following a short illness.

Jack was born September 21, 1935 in Weir, KS the son of Herbert and Ivy (Devini) Scott. Herbert died when Jack was very young and his step-father William Chedister provided for his care.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended area schools.

Jack was a veteran of the United States Army.

In 1955 he married Sofie Hornung in Frankfurt, Germany; she survives at the home.

Jack worked as a mechanic and farmer most all his life and locally for O'Malley Farms in Weir, KS.

Jack was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of American Legion Cherokee Post #35.

Survivors include his wife, children Donald Scott of Pittsburg, KS, Susan Crowe of Pittsburg, KS, James Scott and wife Leanna of Mulberry, KS, Bob Scott and Kim Downing of Pittsburg, KS and William Scott and wife Liz of Weir, KS; brother Carl Scott of Topeka, KS; sister Louise Kaufman of Kingman, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday July 25, 2008 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Weir, KS with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at the New Pleasant View (sic) [Pleasantview] Cemetery in Rural Cherokee County.

Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday July 24, 2008 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Weir, KS.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to The American Legion.

Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 104 W. Main Weir, KS 66781.
