Helen Ruth (Ullery) Eror, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed peacefully to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Feb. 12, 2017, at the age of 96.
Helen was born on Aug. 20, 1920, in Romney, W.Va., to the late O.C. and Ella (Smoot) Ullery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitey Eror; her brothers, Blair and Eugene Ullery; and her sisters, Ina Parker, Odessa Ashenfelter, and Elizabeth Campbell.
Helen led a giving, Christian life. She loved singing with her sisters and the church choir; raising children; cooking and baking for family and others; and making the best stadium pizza Fort Hill has ever tasted.
She spent her early career working at the Pentagon writing letters of condolence to families of fallen soldiers.
She was an avid Steelers fan.

Surviving are four daughters, Gail Looney and husband, John, Wheeling, W.Va., Joyce Michaels and husband, Richard, Wiley Ford, W.Va., Jane Boley and husband, Jeff, Boiling Springs, Pa., and Cynthia Wilson, her caregiver for 12 years, and husband Troy, Cumberland; four grandchildren, Tracey Engle and husband, Lewis, Frostburg, Jennifer Silber and husband, Chad, Chicago, Ill., Giles Wright Jr. and wife, Jessica, Bethel Park, Pa., and Megan Boley, Washington, D.C.; four step-grandchildren, Greg Michaels and wife, Robin, Frostburg, Craig Michaels and wife, Misty, Barrelville, Wyatt Wilson, Hagerstown, and Cole Wilson, Brunswick; five great-grandchildren, Chelsea Boor and wife, Jaclyn, LaVale, Makena and Gabriel Silber, Chicago, and Braeden and Logan Wright, Bethel Park; one step-great-grandson, Brady Engle, Frostburg; one sister, Kathryn Abe, Wiley Ford; and one brother, Wallace Ullery, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at Livingstone Church of the Brethren on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Gerald Hott and her nephew, Pastor Grant Abe officiating.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
