Early Life: Raymond was born June 1, 1939, in Provo, Utah, The youngest child of Vernile Erastus and Bessie Whitney Thorn. He attended school in the Springville area through 8th grade.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: He served in the United States Army. He was introduced to Della May Madsen through a mutual friend in September 1967. They were married three weeks later on October 13, 1967. Raymond and Della were blessed with four children. He was a self-taught "Jack of All Trades". He was a mechanic, raised rabbits, gardener, farmer, lapidary, and he took some courses in personal income tax. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. There are many other things he did. Raymond Thorn passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017, in Provo, Utah.
Survived By: Three of his children: Ann Marie Thorn Melo and Alice Joann Thorn Lewis (Tim) and Rex Whitney Thorn; sister, Claudia Joanne Thorn Marchant; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; wife, Della; son, Jacob "Jake" Wilford Thorn; sister, Alice Valene Thorn Bateman; brothers: Vern Erwin Thorn and Eugene Whitney Thorn.
