MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Audrey V. Shaffer, 70, of 10515 Kasiesville Road, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at her home.

Born Sept. 5, 1935, in Mercersburg, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Blanche Yeager Starliper.

She was employed for 28 years by World Kitchens in Greencastle, Pa.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by her husband, Tex S. Shaffer, whom she married June 20, 1986; three daughters, Sherry A. Egolf and Carol L. Hornbaker, both of Mercersburg, and Teresa K. Morningstar of Waynesboro, Pa.; one son, Jerry L. Lindsay of Pensacola, Fla.; four stepdaughters, Kimberly Jones and Lisa von Sternberg, both of Mercersburg, and Debra Coover and Rhonda Ryder, both of St. Thomas, Pa.; four sisters, Dorothy Hays of Orlando, Fla., Leona Gordon of St. Thomas, and Cecile Angle and Martha Daley, both of Mercersburg; one brother, Walter Starliper of Mercersburg; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Greencastle Church of God. The Rev. Floyd E. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home in Mercersburg. Visitation also will be Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Franklin Unit, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
