Oliver John Palm, 85 lifetime resident of Albany, died in the Shackelford County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since September 20. He was a resident of Bluebonnet Lodge where he fell, breaking his hip, He underwent surgery at the hospital.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Albany Cemetery.

Mr. Palm was born on the Palm Ranch southeast of Albany January 23, 1880, where he was reared. He was a son of the late Henry and Valine Dobbs Palm, pioneer ranchers. The elder Mr. Palm served as postmaster here a number of years about the turn of the century.

He was married to Clara Mae Cockrell in October, 2909. She passed away in 1958.

Mr. Palm had farmed and ranched, and hadj also served Albany as postmaster. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
