John Henry Palm was born June 26, 1913 in Albany, Texas to Clara May Cockrell Palm, and Oliver Henry Palm, both deceased. His siblings who were twins were Maxwell Palm and Maxine Palm Robbins of Albany, both are deceased.John was a radio operator and a sharp shooter and was stationed in the Philippines during World War II. After the war he became a map maker, would traveler and scholar. He lived in Cashmull and Belize,Mexico for 28 years. In 1976 John returned to the U.S. and settled in the Bandera and Fort Stockton area. John moved to Hobbs, New Mexico the last year of his life and enjoyed reading, walking and telling his stories.His passion was to find the causes of war and for all war's to end. He had a long life and did all activities he wanted to do. He was an accomnpliched carpenter. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and was a quiet, reserved man who was fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. He will be missed for his wit and beautiful eyes.
