Maxine P. Robbins
ALBANY — Maxine P. Robbins, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2005 in an Abilene Hospital. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Albany with the Reverend Bart Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Godfrey — Neese Funeral Homes, Inc.
Maxine was born on July 24, 1910, in Shackelford County, Texas. She married John W. Robbins. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Maxine was a 1924 graduate of Albany High School. She attended West Texas State University at Canyon, Texas and was a graduate of Ranger Jr. College. She taught one year at Diller Flat country School in Shackelford County. She was employed by Blanton and Blanton Attorneys-at-law and for 18 years was the secretary for four different county judges.
Mrs. Robbins was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Bluebonnet Study Club, the Old Jail Art Center, the Shackelford County Retired Teachers Asso- ciation and the Baptist Women's Missionary Union.
Survivors include: one brother, John Henry Palm of Fort Stockton, Texas; one sister-in-law, Viva Palm of LaLuz, New Mexico; three cousins, Harold Cockerell of Albany, Bob Cocke- rell of Moran and Elizabeth Edgington of San Angelo; and six nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a twin brother, Maxwell Palm.
The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society or the donor's charity of choice.
