Lena Inez Bateman Platter was the 5th daughter and the 11th child of John Daniel Bateman and Laura Ada Woolley Bateman. She married Roy Lee Platter on Sep 12, 1925. They had 5 sons and 3 daughters.

Funeral services for Lera Inez Platter, 78, Canton, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with Revs. T. D. Cooper and L. A. Goodson officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, Canton.
Mrs. Platter died March 14 in a Wills Point nursing home after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 4, 1907, in Granbury. She was a housewife and a member of the Willow Springs Baptist Church. She lived most of her life in the Willow Springs Community.
Survivors include four sons, Donald Platter, and Buster Platter, both of Canton, Paul Platter, Garland, and Calvin Platter, Wills Point; two daughters Dorothy Burton, Edgewood, and Pasty Rabe, Arlington; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Cox, Norman Bateman, Larry Cox, Billy Joe Baugh, M. J. Baugh, Wayne Bateman, Devon Baugh, Rodney Seay, Bennie Lee Thorn, Kenneth Thorn, Truman Thorn, Freddie Dale Thorn, Leonard Baugh, Reagan Platter, Charles Platter and Rev. Lynn Mullins.
