Monnie Geneva Bateman Baugh was the 3rd daughter and the 5th child of John Daniel Bateman and Laura Ada Woolley Bateman. She married Jesse Washington Baugh, Sr. on Nov 29, 1910 in Glen Rose, TX, Somervell Co. They had 7 sons and 1 daughter.

Funeral services for Monnie Geneva Baugh, 93, Canton, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Rev. B. R. Mullins, assisted by Rev. Bill Hughes, officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, Van Zandt Co.
Mrs. Baugh died Wednesday in a Van Zandt Co. nursing home after an extended illness.
She was born April 5, 1892 in Van Zandt Co. , and was a member of the Highland Baptist Church. She lived all of her life in the Canton area and was a housewife.
Survivors include a daughter, Opal Baugh Valentine, Edgewood; five sons, M. J. Baugh, Tommy Baugh, Billy Joe Baugh and Leonard Allen Baugh, all of Wills Point, and Devon Baugh of Canton; a sister, Lera Platter, Wills Point; 28 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and nephews, nieces and other relatives.
