OBITUARY:
Haskell Lee "Buster" Platter
CANTON - Services for Haskell Lee "Buster' Platter, 81, Canton, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Willow Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Craig Locke and L.A. "Pokey" Goodson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton. Mr. Platter died Dec. 17, 2007, in Grand Saline. He was born June 16, 1926, in Edgewood to Roy Lee and Lera Inez Bateman Platter. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired after 27 years as a Teamsters truck driver, and was a lifelong member of Willow Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by wife, Ramona Platter; son, Haskell Lee Platter Jr.; sisters, Wynona Platter, Dorothy Burton; and brothers, Jerry and Calvin Platter. Survivors include daughter, Kim Bragg, Ben Wheeler; son, Roy Platter, Canton; sisters, Patsy Rabe, Arlington; brothers, Don Platter, Canton, and Paul Platter, Rowlett; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randy Burton, Ronnie Burton, Steve Platter, Robert Platter, Lance Rabe and Lynn Rodgers. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
