In 1910, Josiah was enumerated with his parents Josiah and Minnie Bond; and siblings Albert and Isabelle in Coronado National Forest, Arizona (1910 Census).

In 1920, Josiah was enumerated with his parents Josiah and Minnie Bond; and siblings Albert and Isabell H. in Solera, Arizona (1920 Census).

In 1930, mining engineer Josiah was enumerated with his widowed father Josiah and siblings Albert A., Hope H., and Catherine M. in Patagonia, Arizona (1930 Census).

On 11 Mar 1942, Josiah Bond (B: ~1904, Texas) enlisted as a Private in the US Army at Fort Bliss, Texas. He was described as 5 feet 10 inches, 150 pounds, a miner, and a resident of Texas.

Josiah served with the 315 Engineer Battalion during World War II. The 315 Engineer Battalion was part of the 90 Infantry Division, also known as the "Tough 'Ombres".

Th 90th ID was part of the D-Day Invasion, landing at Utah Beach. Josiah's date of passing, his unit, and his Purple Heart award indicate he part of the initial days of the D-Day offensive.
