Early in his life, Kenneth was employed at Marvin’s Gulf Station. He was later employed as a Welder at Grove Manufacturing and most recently at Bender’s Potato Farm. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and attended the men’s bible study group. An avid gardener, Kenneth took great pride in the produce he grew. He also enjoyed bowling and rolled for the Marine Corps Bowling League for many years.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joanne L. Bitner Bowman, whom he married on June 9, 1957; two sons, Jaimie Bowman and wife Kathleen of Tunkhannock, PA, and Stevi Bowman of Fairfield, PA; two grandsons, Kevin and Kristopher Bowman of Tunkhannock, PA; and one sister, Janet Ramsey of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by five brothers, Glen, Robert, Wayne, Charles and Dale Bowman; two sisters, Helen Lind and Mary Black; and two infant siblings, Joseph and Frances Bowman.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, December 30, 2016, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
