Funeral services for Palmer Rustad, 75, longtime Sacred Heart resident and for many years an employee of the Sacred Heart Farmers Co-op Elevator here, were held last Saturday, September 15, 1973, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart, with Pastor Justin H. Flak officiating.

Mr. Rustad passed away Wednesday, September 12, 1973, at the Granite Falls Hospital, after having been in poor health for some time.
Mrs. Helen Ann Nelson was the organist and Henry Dahlgren was the vocalist. Pall bearers were Otis Edlund, Arthur Dybsand, Palmer Dybsand, Virgil Warnke, Odell Reiten and Ervin Leuk. Burial was in Trinity Cemetery southwest of Sacred Heart, with Smith Funeral Service being in charge of the arrangements.

Palmer Rustad was born December 13, 1897, on the home farm in Sacred Heart. He resided there for a number of years while working at the Sacred Heart Co-op Elevator, where he was employed for 42 years. He retired in 1970.

Mr. Rustad lived with his sister, Adeline Thompson, and family, for over 20 years. He was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart, and was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church at the time of his death.

Surviving are three sisters: Adeline, Gladys and Lenora, and one adopted sister, Glenda; four nephews and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and one brother, Oscar Rustad.
