Stricken while she was passing out gifts Christmas eve [1940] at her home, Mrs. Anna Rustad passed away nearly instantly to change the happy household into one of sorrow. Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. D. Dale officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Born of parents Peder and Anna Jenson in Namsos, Norway on September 18, 1881, the deceased attained the age of 59 years.
In 1906 she came from Norway and directly to Sacred Heart where she was united in marriage to Christian Rustad on October 12, 1907. Five children were born to this union, one of whom died in infancy.

Besides her grief-stricken husband, Mrs. Rustad is survived by the following children: Oscar, Adeline, Mrs. Gladys Degner of Minneapolis, Mrs. Lenora Hoff, Palmer, and Glenda of Denver, Colorado; two sisters in Norway and two in North Dakota; two brothers in Norway; two grandchildren: Dale Hoff and Dennis Degner. One brother died in Oregon two years ago.

At the last rites Monday, Mrs. W.E. Hoberg sang a selection and and M.G. Melsness rendered a Norwegian song. Pall bearers were Emil Erickson, Martin Fieldhammer, Ole Edlund, John Trongard, Herman Lanning and Olaf Lerude.
