Mrs. Sallie Coleman Bassett, 88, of 2324 Lincoln Street, died Sunday at Forest Hills Nursing Home in Columbia.
A native of Bassett, she was the daughter of the late Morgan Augustus and Angeline Craighead Coleman. She was the widow of the late Joseph B. Bassett who died in May.
Mrs. Bassett had lived in Columbia for the past 24 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Uhlman S. Alexander of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Norman G. Buskill of Rome, Ga. and Mrs. Hugh C. Avant of Fayette, Ala.; one son, Alton E. Bassett of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Tom C. Coleman of Glen Rock, Pa. and J. Bruce Coleman of Franklin, W. Va.; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at McKee Funeral Home by Dr. Chevis F. Horne. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
