MARTINSVILLE MORNING POST, Martinsville, Va., Mon., Jan. 4, 1937. Mrs. Alice Coleman Pratt, 51, of Broad street, died of spinal meningitis Saturday following an illness of since last Tuesday. Surviving are her husband, George C. Pratt, and three children of the home, Amorette, 20, C. O. Pratt, 18, and Donald I. Pratt, 16. She is survived by several brothers and sisters: Mrs. T. C. Matthews of Martinsville, M. M. Coleman, J. B. Coleman, and T. C. Coleman, all of Pulaski; Mrs. J. B. Bassett of Charlotte, N.C. and Robert Coleman of Basset. A brother George, formerly of West Virginia, is deceased. Both her parents are living, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Coleman of Charlotte, N.C. The father is 86 and the mother 84. They came from Henry county and moved to Franklin county at the time Mrs. Pratt was born. Mr. and Mrs. Pratt had lived in Martinsville most of their married life. She was an active worker in the Ladies Aid Society of the Broad Street Christian Church. Finale rites were held from the graveside in Oakwood Cemetery Sunday

Mrs. C. O. Pratt and Miss Hallie Doyle met with an accident while driving from Martinsville a few days ago.
Both were thrown out of the buggy and escaped with slight injuries. One of the horses was quite badly hurt on a barbed
wire fence.
